FLU Vaccinations + COVID Booster
This year the Health Board have asked the Surgery to offer Flu Vaccination and COVID Booster Vaccinations to patients over 80 years only. If you are in this category you will receive an invite letter to attend our clinic.
All other patients will receive a national letter to attend a vaccination centre.
The Surgery will be unable to vaccinate any patients outwith the over 80 years cohort as we will not receive any additional vaccine.
The Health Board are currently making arrangements to vaccinate housebound patients.
Patients aged 70-79 and those classed as Clinically Extremely Vulnerable are currently being invited to appointments at local Mass Vaccination Centres to receive their COVID Boosters and Flu Vaccines. This will continue until approximately mid-November. If you are in this age group, and have not received an invitation to attend a Mass Vaccination Centre by 16th November 2021, please contact the local appointing team on 01563 826540.
For all other patient groups (out with the 70-79 and clinically extremely vulnerable groups), who are eligible for Flu Vaccine and/or COVID Booster, you will also be invited to attend a Mass Vaccination Centre throughout November and December. Patients will be invited for vaccination in priority order by age and high risk category and will receive an appointment letter in a blue envelope at the appropriate time.
Covid Vaccination exemptions
GP Practice have no direct/patient facing role in the clinical exemption process in Scotland. Persons eligible for exemption are being identified centrally. Scottish Government has been very clear that patients should absolutely not be directed to General Practice for this purpose.
